Child TB

Clinical criteria for diagnosis of TB in children:

The presence of 3 or more of the following features suggests a diagnosis of TB:

# symptom criteria suggestive of TB

#A history of recent close contact (within the past 12 month)

#physical signs highly suggestive of TB

#A positive Mantoux test

#chest x-ray suggestive of TB

#Special laboratory test-CSF, Histopathology

Note.if the child has only 2 features, and other criteria are not helpful in diagnosis expert opinion can be sought before proceeding further.
